While
absolute pitches are not represented, the horizontal line through
the middle of the window is in fact "Middle C". Pitch positions
relative to this may be calculated by the number of half steps up or down.
Notes will automatically snap to half-step positions and
there are a series of faint horizontal lines in the window background to indicate
the half step intervals. The highest note is an octave above Middle C and
the lowest note is an octave below Middle C.
